America's Grand Prix

Another exhibit highlights the 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix of Guenther and Siewchin Yong who reportedly drove the vehicle for 32 years. During this time they visited every state but Hawaii, and made it to over 250 national parks, forests, and various other historical sites. When it came to taking a road trip vacation, this couple and their car knew how to do it right.
A distinctive looking car on its introduction in 1962, the Grand Prix was initially released as a full size car though the name floated over to the luxury side from time to time. The 1967 on display at the museum was part of the first generation of Grand Prix cars. This model year had a standard 400 cubic inch V8 four barrel with duel exhausts that cranked out 350 horses. Not bad for a full sized family car.
